Pricing Software
The Mac-Royall / PC-Royall pricing programme is a sophisticated piece
of picture framing pricing software which is available for both PC's
and Apple Mac and in both imperial and metric.
This picture framing software has been developed over recent years
by Mike Royall who's a qualified Guild Commended Framer (GCF) of
many years standing and a nationally respected figure in the UK framing
industry. He's used his extensive knowledge of picture framing and
years of experience in business to come up with an invaluable
aid for the modern framing / gallery business. The overall application
software used is a commercial package called "Filemaker Pro" which
is a relational database programme. The picture framing pricing programme has been
written within Filemaker Pro and it will run on all computers regardless
of whether they are PC's or Apple Macs. A demo vesion of the programme
is available for a small cost (details below) should you wish
to "try before you buy". One of the major selling points of this programme
is it's ease of modification - if its not quite the way you want it,
then simply modify it so that it suits your business exactly.
Please remember that with almost all other pricing programmes on the market "what you see is what you get" - with this programme if what you see is not what you want, then change it.
We are constantly changing and modifying the one that we use in our own business - making amendments to layouts, deleting a section that we no longer use etc. The ease of modification is so simple and as you get to know and understand the full power of this software you will be able to make more radical and complex changes to it.
Alternatively if you are really still a bit of a 'dinosaur' when
it comes to computers then just use it the way it is!
Remember that not only will this framing software impress your customers but it will also give you an advantage over your competitors - many of whom will still be using rather unprofessional looking pricing charts! The programme was designed to enable even the slowest of operators to be up and running within minutes of switching the machine on and quite rightly can be termed "user friendly".
It is entirely mouse operated and uses point and click, pull down/ pop up menus and is fully automated wherever possible. It also has a hierarchy of passwords built in to it to ensure that your new sales assistant cannot delete all your records by mistake! In fact the only time that you'll need to type anything is after the customer has agreed the price and you need to enter his name and address - even this part of the programme has been automated so that for any existing customer all you will need to do is to enter their telephone number, click a button and their address will be filled in for you. Being "two fingered typists" ourselves it was in our own interest to make the whole process as simple as possible.
There's no limit to the number of records it holds - it prints job sheets, is able to produce monthly and annual summaries and it has "search and find" capabilities.
Because of a unique method of what we call "factoring" every aspect of the price can be configured and modified to exactly suit your own business - no matter where in the country you live or at what level you want to pitch your price.
